I feel that we are at the turning point of a new age. What we need now, more than anything else, is a new approach to human relationships and social organizations. We need a planetary approach, a more synthetic approach. An approach where the individual learns their function in the world.
If we are to have a global world, the individual must establish themselves, their own inner identity, strongly; so strongly that they are capable of functioning together, shoulder to shoulder, with every human being in every part of the world. They must be able to be free from their own culture, their own race, their own traditions, and more. The most important issue is for the person to build themselves strongly within their own identity.
We need a new type of human being. The type of human we need is not based on contradiction and conflict, but a type of human who knows how to be human and how to embrace humanity. A human type capable of embracing and accepting all of existence as mind, body, and spirit.
An aesthetic approach versus an approach based on ethical rules. In an aesthetic approach, you can see that everything stands within a whole in a relationship, and instead of identifying yourself with just a part, you can come to identify yourself with the whole. This is a very difficult situation at this point.
We are definitely passing through a difficult period. And truly, I do not know what awaits us ahead. Since the first question in your minds right now is our near future, I am a bit pessimistic about the path our country and the world are currently taking.
You must understand this well: Crises are necessary to achieve what must be achieved. The only problem is this; Some things must be ready before the great crisis comes—when the new age begins. Because very soon, the new age will begin upon the seeds that were sown before the crisis. If you have a winter that ends in spring, and if the harvest is not gathered in the autumn following the summer, no seeds of yours will germinate in the next spring. Then you will have to start everything again from the most primitive time of manifestation.
Therefore, I emphasize this: Throughout my life, I have thought about the idea I call “seed man” and “seed woman,” “seed human.” That individual who sees themselves as the past of humanity—especially of Western society, but actually of all cultures—because, and, we want to be born from the future. Individuals who can be a global world, no matter what great crisis comes.
Therefore, we need men and women not who possess a specific specialization, but who possess a great vision; who have vision and courage. The courage to wait, and in some respects, to wait throughout their lives, To wait despite the examples before them, To wait despite the things they left behind, To wait despite their repeated deaths. And thus, we need men and women who will be the seeds of the future world.
This is, of course, the greatest choice we all must make, and we can all make this choice. We can follow the prevailing frequency like autumn leaves (even though those golden leaves are incredibly beautiful); they have to fall and perish, they have the duty of fertilizing the soil for future generations. But in reality, “seed women” and “seed men” are the only things we have left. Those are the ones you need to look for.
If you still do not deem yourselves sufficient to be “seed women” and “seed men,” you had better start seeing yourselves as such now. Because this is humanity’s only insurance in the future. In my opinion, there is no point in trying to look at the near future today, because it is quite dark. One must look there—to tomorrow, or if not tomorrow, the day after tomorrow—for the possibility of the new world being born; that is, one must prepare. In my opinion, the only thing that adds value to what we give up now, to our courage, our decisions, and our choices, is to become “seeds” so that the future can form.
So, I hope that each of you, in your own lives and on your own paths, on a very, very near day (if you have not already done so), decides to become a “seed man” and “seed woman.”
Thank you.
